DIFFERENCE BETWEEN FREEZE AND BETTERMENT?

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN FREEZE AND BETTERMENT?

In the MH CET LLB 3-Year CAP (Centralized Admission Process) rounds, “Freeze” and “Betterment” are two options that candidates can choose when securing their admission.

1. Freeze Option:

  • What It Means: When you select the “Freeze” option, you are confirming your acceptance of the seat allotted to you in that particular round. By choosing to freeze your seat, you agree to take admission in the allotted college and course.
  • Implications:
  • No Further Rounds: Once you freeze your seat, you will not be considered for any further CAP rounds. Your admission process is essentially complete.
  • Required Action: You need to report to the allotted college, submit the required documents, and pay the fees to confirm your admission.

2. Betterment Option:

  • What It Means: Choosing the “Betterment” option means you are not fully satisfied with the allotted seat and want to be considered for a potentially better seat in the subsequent CAP rounds.
  • Implications:
  • Continued Participation: You remain in the CAP process and will be considered for a better college or course in the next round.
  • Current Seat: The seat allotted to you in the current round is kept on hold. If you are allotted a better seat in the next round, the previous seat will be released. If not, the current seat remains yours.
  • Flexibility: This option is useful if you are hopeful of getting admission to a preferred college or course but still want to secure your chances in the ongoing process.

Choosing Between Freeze and Betterment:

  • Freeze if you’re satisfied with the current seat and want to complete the admission process.
  • Betterment if you believe there is a chance of securing a better seat and are willing to take the risk of participating in further rounds.

Each option has its pros and cons, depending on your preferences and confidence in getting a better seat in future rounds.
